Welcome To Frances Street!

Hi! I'm Kathleen. Thank you for stopping by to check out my blog. I am a South Florida photographer, born and raised on Frances Street in Key West, FL. I made so many memories on that street as a child and feel like my photography caputures those kinds of memories for other people: moments that are real and personal to each and every client that I photograph. I think I was originally drawn to photography because it was a good excuse not to be the one in front of the camera...I am probably the most unphotogenic photographer you will ever meet! However, once I started learning this amazing craft I became ADDICTED! Addicted to capturing beautiful, natural, candid moments that would otherwise be forgotten. Ok, so it’s time to give you all a few updates on what’s been going on in the Nugent home. First things first, since this is a new blog and there may be some new readers (wishful thinking!) let me just say that my son Jonas was diagnosed with autism last year he started a new and AMAZING school in September and is doing GREAT. Most of you already know that he can now recite his ABC’s but he has also started counting to 10 and is saying a few words!! The words he says are very random such as “October, Easy & Sit Down” but I can’t tell you how excited I am to see his progress! He is definitely learning in his own unique way but as long as he is learning I really don’t care which way he does it!!!

Also some of you may know that Brian has been working towards becoming a Florida Fish & Wildlife Officer, he has been working towards it for over a year now. It has been a long process but we are hopeful that it will all payoff soon. Last weekend he jumped over a huge hurdle of the application process! We are so proud of him and praying for the next step to go just as well!!

Finally, I think it has been pretty obvious what’s been going on with me. This little business of mine as been growing and with growth comes….BETTER EQUIPMENT!!! Frances Street Photography added a NEW CAMERA to its bag this week and I was ridiculously happy when the UPS man dropped it off….so happy that I dragged my family out to the beach (yes, it’s still beach weather in south florida) to practice! As you can see they happily obliged :)
